Here at Middletown Regional Flight Training Institute, we pride ourselves in promoting safe and affordable access to general aviation in a fun environment. Flight Instructor
Flight instructors primarily provide professional, FAA-standard instruction to students both in the classroom and in flight. Full-time flight instructors have priority over Part-Time flight instructors in being assigned new students. To qualify as full-time, instructors must maintain at least 8 flight students at any given time, pending student availability. Full-time flight instructors should also be available at least 5 days per week most weeks (taking into consideration time off for vacation or fatigue/illness).

Job Duties
  • Provide ground and flight instruction to students under FAR parts 61 and 141 using our Jeppesen-brand syllabus.
  • Ensure aircraft are operated and checked in accordance with company policy, and that students/renters are informed and trained in the same fashion.
  • Ensure aircraft are secured after each flight per company policy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and renters, to include sales.

Secondary Job Duties
  • Add oil and fuel aircraft as needed.
  • Clean aircraft windscreens as needed.

Qualifications
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate Ratings
  • FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with appropriate Ratings
  • FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • 300 Hours in Airplanes (any class)
  • Ability to utilize PowerPoint Presentations
Multi-Engine Requirements
  • High Performance Endorsement
  • 25 Hours in Multi-Engine Airplanes (Land or Sea)
  • 5 Hours in our current Make/Model of twin-engine trainer
Airplane Mechanic
Airplane mechanics primarily maintain and inspect our fleet to ensure safe and legal operations. Full-time mechanics have priority over Part-Time mechanics in being assigned inspections or long jobs. To qualify as full-time, the mechanics should be available at least 5 days per week most weeks (taking into consideration time off for vacation or fatigue/illness).

Primary Job Duties
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with company policy.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance on aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policy.

Secondary Job Duties
  • Add oil or fuel to aircraft when needed.
  • Clean aircraft as needed.
  • Perform standard janitorial cleaning duties in maintenance hangars.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and renters, to include sales.

Qualifications
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.
  • Ability to use a Word Processor for creating logbook entries.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without reasonable accommodations or assistance.
  • Inspection Authorization preferred.
  • Previous Experience on our Make/Models of Aircraft preferred.
  • Pilot License with an Airplane Land Class Rating preferred.
Line Technician
Line Technicians are primarily responsible for cleaning, fueling, and performing basic checks on our training aircraft after they return to the flight line.

Primary Job Duties
  • Add oil or fuel to aircraft prior to the start of each day and as needed throughout.
  • Perform spot cleaning on aircraft as required. Fully wash airplanes in rotation.
  • Ensure parked aircraft are secured on the flight line per company policy.
  • Perform standard janitorial cleaning duties.

Secondary Job Duties
  • Assist in maintenance on aircraft under the supervision of an Aircraft Mechanic.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students and renters, to include sales.

Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without reasonable accommodations or assistance.
  • Previous Aviation Experience of any kind preferred.
